All in all, a 5-7 year for Kent State was a slight underperformance, but they also had one of the toughest out of conference schedules in the country, featuring a road trip to Washington and Oklahoma in back to back weeks, and finally a trip between the hedges to Georgia in week 4. They had a combined 2% post game win expectancy in those 3 games. Within the conference, they were erratic as usual. They beat Ohio and Buffalo but got waxed by Toledo, Ball St and Eastern Michigan. I also think it’s a sign of things to come when your head coach takes a coordinator role at a subpar P5 team, which is what Sean Lewis did when he signed on to be the offensive coordinator with Deion at Colorado.
